“All work and no play” …. you know the old saying. No matter how smoothly your wedding planning is going, at the end of the day, it’s still a lot of work! Whether it’s the leg work of venue-hopping, the mental Olympics of seating arrangements, the seemingly endless volley of emails between the wedding party or eager but well-meaning family members and friends, there’s no doubt – a wedding is a pretty big undertaking. But there’s a light in the distance that can keep you going – the juiciest of dangling carrots – and that’s the idea of your honeymoon. More and more, couples are deferring their honeymoons; long gone are the days when a bride and groom would leave their wedding receptions and head straight to the airport to jet off on a sun-drenched, Colada-fueled vacation. More often than not, the honeymoon comes a little bit later in the game, either a few weeks after the wedding, or, sometimes it has to be coordinated with work schedules and what vacation time you have left later in the year or into the next year. The good thing is, there’s no expiration date or time limit on a honeymoon – this can give you time to really think about where you’d like to go and allow you to do your research! With a little digging around online or reaching out to a reputable travel agent, you can find a hidden gem of a location, save a bundle on airfare and accommodation if you book at certain times of the year, and experience the best of your destination by knowing what the best season to travel is, or when to avoid them altogether – hurricane season would definitely not be a honeymoon highlight!
Destination Weddings and Honeymoons compiled a list of the top destinations for 2015, so if you’re starting to think about your post-wedding getaway, or you’re trying to figure out where to seat your loveably rowdy friends at the reception and your eyes are starting to glaze over, take a break and wander over to their list!
Swimsuits optional, but Pin-finger and bookmarking mandatory!
Wishing you a day as limitless as you are~
