Wedding Planning (Philosophy) Made Easy: Zero Regrets

#ZeroRegrets: The ultimate wedding mantra
Via theatozbooks.com

Ah, September 2nd, and the beginning of the Labour Day long weekend; here we are at the unofficial end of summer. I know, the summer season runs until September 20th, but let's be real - once school starts, summer is dunzo! Also, Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is a harbinger of autumn and they're available as of now.  So there's that. Darn you pumpkin spice everything! As the calendar changes over to September, we also say goodbye to the official summer wedding season. There'll be more weddings as 2016 winds down, no doubt, but those frenzied weekends booked up by sunny and carefree ceremonies and receptions will taper off, and for couples who have become engaged this year,  a change of season might usher in the time they start planning upcoming nuptials.  So for all the couples out there who are about to dip their toes into the wedding planning pool, congratulations! And can we pass along a friendly piece of advice? Here's a timely article to welcome you to one of the most exciting/stressful/overwhelming/amazing/heart-pounding/fun periods of your life - the planning of the biggest party of your life to-date! No pressure? You bet! If you need a cheat sheet and list of mantras for the next few months to turn this hope into a reality,  this would definitely be it!

Now, enjoy this last summer hurrah! Have a safe and joyous long weekend!

Wishing you a day as limitless as you are~
Lisa and April

Destination You: Pumping The Brakes (Occasionally!) on Wedding Planning

Spinning plates, aka the likely autobiographical tale of a many a bride-and-groom-to-be!

There's one thing that April and I advocate to all our our brides and grooms-to-be and it's quite simply this: take time for yourselves, time away from any and everything wedding-related! Most folks planning their weddings are doing that while they're juggling school or work, family, friends, and lives that are pulling them in a lot of directions.

And there can be moments when excitement seamlessly transitions to frustration and stress, prompting you to ponder the merits of a quickie Vegas/City Hall/Niagara Falls in lieu of having to meet yet again with your florist/stationary designer/decorator for what feels like the umpteenth time.

Be it a class at the gym, a beauty treatment that gives you some time alone and pampered if even for a little while, a floating session in a pod where you can be soothed by blocking out the outside world for an hour, or a hard-and-fast ban on wedding talk at specific times of the week, there are ways you can gently extricate yourselves from planning so that you can decompress, unwind and come back stronger than ever and ready to tackle yet another meeting with your florist/stationary designer/decorator - well, you get the idea!
